How much does Etsy take per sale in 2026?
For a typical US sale, Etsy charges a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus the shipping you set, payment processing of 3% + $0.25, and a $0.20 listing fee renewed each time the item sells. That works out to roughly 10–12.5% of the order for most sellers, before any Offsite Ads commission. UK sellers also pay a 4% regulatory operating fee, and EU sellers 2%.
Does Etsy charge the transaction fee on shipping?
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and payment processing fees both apply to the total you charge the buyer — the displayed item price plus your shipping and gift-wrapping amounts. This is why charging for shipping is not fee-free money; many sellers fold real shipping costs into the item price and offer free shipping instead.
What is the Etsy regulatory operating fee?
A percentage fee Etsy introduced in markets where local rules (such as the EU Digital Services Act or UK Online Safety Act) place extra obligations on the platform. It is 4% in the United Kingdom and 2% in the European Union and several other markets, charged on the order total on top of the standard fees.
When does Etsy charge the Offsite Ads fee?
Only when a sale is attributed to a click on an Etsy advertisement shown off Etsy (for example on Google or Meta). That commission is 15% of the order total, or 12% if your shop has under US$10,000 in lifetime Etsy sales. Sales from normal Etsy searches never carry it, so the calculator treats it as an option, not a default.
How do I price an Etsy item to earn a target profit?
